Upper Saddle River is an affluent borough in the northern end of the state of New Jersey, just south of the New York border.

Pre-Schools in Upper Saddle River

The Rodie Child Care centre is open for children up to the age of 6 and as young as 6 weeks old. The child care centre is run by the YMCA of Bergen County and also includes an all day private Kindergarten class.

Early Enrichment Centre Inc. is a non-secetarian co educational pre-school in Upper Saddle River and is located on East Upper Saddle Road. There are just 69 students currently at the pre-school and the days are 6 hours long with 185 school days each year.

Saddle Acres School – Englewood is a private pre-school situated on Carlough Road in Upper Saddle River. It accepts children in grades PK-K.

Public Elementary and Middle Schools in Upper Saddle River

A large number of students from Upper Saddle River in grades Kindergarten through to 12 attend the schools within the Upper Saddle River School District. There are three schools in the district for different age groups.

The Robert D. Reynolds Elementary School caters for students in grades Kindergarten up to grade 2. There are currently 457 students enrolled at the school. Students are offered a wide curriculum and it is one of the best elementary  schools in the region.

The Edith A. Bogert Elementary School is for children in grades 3 to 5 and there are 459 students currently enrolled there. The school has been given a prestigious 9/10 rating by the GreatSchools website and is consistently recognized for its outstanding academic performance year after year. As well as excelling academically, there are a good range of extracurricular activities for the students to take part in including band, chorus and painting as well as sporting activities such as football, lacrosse, volleyball, tennis and more.

Students in grades 6-8 from Upper Saddle River can attend the Emil A. Cavallinni Middle School that currently has 442 students enrolled there. The school is one of the highest performing middle schools both in the state and country. Exam pass rates are often upwards of 90 percent in most subject areas.

Public High Schools in Upper Saddle River

There are no high schools or middle schools situated in Upper Saddle River itself, however students can attend the Northern Highlands Regional High School in nearby Allendale for grades 9 through 12. Students also attend the school from surrounding areas such as Ho-Ho-Kus, Saddle River and Allendale.

Pascack Hills High School is also very close by to Upper Saddle River and is consistently ranked as one of the top public high schools in both the state and country,with a large number of students going on to attend some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country after graduation.

Although the public schools in Upper Saddle River are some of the best in the nation there are also several private schools located within the region. Whilst there are no private schools above pre-school in Upper Saddle River itself, you don’t need to travel very far to find one in surrounding boroughs.

Saddle River Day School is situated in the nearby borough of Saddle River and is a small private school for children in grades K – 12. There are just 317 students currently enrolled at the school.

St. Joseph Regional High School is another private school located close to Upper Saddle River.

Being so close to the New York State border many students also attend private schools that are actually in New York State particularly in the nearby Rockland County, NY.

Higher Education in Upper Saddle River

There are several higher education institutions in close proximity of Upper Saddle River including Rockland Community College, Ramapo College of New Jersey and Bergen Community College.
